Matchbox City Bus

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority ( Metro ) provides bus services to 9.6 million people residing in Los Angeles County, nearly one-third of California's residents.

On 15 March 2007, Metro collaborated with Mattel's Matchbox brand to create a new "city bus" vehicle fashioned after Metro's distinctive poppy orange Local Bus, giving collectors a chance to own a miniature version of the popular and ubiqutious buses that serve L.A. County. It consists of 3 die-cast replicas of the Metro local, Metro Rapid and Metro Express buses. The Metro Express version is only available in Matchbox 10-pack.


I am looking forward to the 2008 City Bus which have yet to hit the local toy stores despite the new wave of Matchbox cars. I would say the Matchbox 2007 City Bus ( Metro Local & Metro Rapid ) is quite hard to find and if you see one, grab it !
